When I swaped the engine on my ZX (Longitudal 2.8 I6) I keept it under 3000rpm for the first 10k miles; It is a manual, but this is actually a normal break-in period. Of course, feel free to slowly break-in the motor for higher RPM zones, but if the car has 100 miles or so when you take it off the lot, odds are that some test-drivers have already redlined/ floored the vehicle before you sat in it.Just put in the amount of oil is says to when doing an oil change since thats essentially what you did. Don't stress on the fact it's the break In period. These motors are bulletproof. All you have to do is not bang it off the limiter for the full "break in" period and you're fine. Hop on and ride.
